庆交通大学建校123周年暨迁校63周年校庆汉诺威学生爵士乐团KKS BIG BAND演奏会

为庆祝交通大学建校123周年暨迁校63周年校庆,特邀请德国汉诺威市学生爵士乐团KKS BIG BAD访问西安交通大学,并进行交通大学建校123周年暨迁校63周年校庆专场演出。演出将于4月10日晚七点在科学馆101报告厅精彩上演。欢迎全体师生前往现场观看演出。

 

 

KKS Big Band乐团简介

 

 

The KKS Big Band was established in 2003 by music teacher Michael Thiemann who is still directing his orchestra today. As the flagship of the Käthe-Kollwitz-Schule Hannover, the KKS Big Band has been one of the best youth jazz orchestras of Lower Saxony for many years. The band repeatedly participated in the state competition “Jugend jazzt”. The jury acknowledged the band’s performance several times with the rating “outstanding”. Lastly in 2017 the band was named best school Big Band in Lower Saxony and was awarded with the prestigious award “Jazzpreis Hannover”. In 2014 the jury at the “bw-musix” competition recognized the KKS Big Band’s accomplishment with a special award. The KKS Big Band also worked and performed with a variety of outstanding musicians and ensembles, such as Ingolf Burkhardt, Benny Brown, the NDR Bigband, the Fette Hupe, Andreas Barkhoff, Jörn Marcussen-Wulff, Malte Schiller, Gary Winters, Rolf von Nordenskjöld and many more.

In 2012 the KKS Big Band released their debut album “Hay Burner.” The KKS Big Band’s open air concert at the Gilde Park Bühne in 2014 was broadcasted live by the television channel h1. In 2015 they released the DVD “Sing, sing, sing” and in 2006 their second album “Dancing Cat”.

In 2016 and 2017 the KKS Big Band was sent to China (Concerts in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Hong Kong) by the Goethe Institut Germany and the UNESCO City of Music Hanover. In 2018 they toured to Poland for several concerts in Krakow and Jelenia Góra.

 

Michael Thiemann, KKS Big Band音乐总监

 

 

Michael Thiemann was born in 1969 in Kassel, Germany. He is father of three children and music teacher at the Käthe-Kollwitz-Schule Hannover. At the University of Kassel he studied saxophone with Rolf Rasch and Johannes Neuner. Already during his academic studies, he deepened his knowledge through workshops and masterclasses with Arno Bornkamp, Dirk Raulf and Joe Viera. Thiemann studied Big Band conductorship with Bernhard Mergner and German Marstatt and extended his knowledge through classes with Andreas Barkhoff, Jörn Marcussen-Wulff and Rolf von Nordenskjöld.

Thiemann initiated a number of jazz festivals; the “Helmstedter Blues- und Jazznacht” (since 2003), “KKS Big Band trifft…” (since 2009), and the “School’s out Big Band Party” (since 2014), many of which he still oversees today.
