简介:

Dr. Can E. Kormanreceived his BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland in 1985, 1987 and 1990, respectively. He joined the George Washington University (GW) in 1991 where he is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). He served as Chair of the Department of ECE from 2005 to 2009. He is currently serving as the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in the School of Engineering and Applied Science. As Associate Dean he is responsible for planning the growth of the research programs within the school, recruiting and funding of graduate students and overseeing the graduate career services. He was also the lead from the engineering school in the planning and design of GW’s new Science and Engineering Hall, the flagship research building of the university. His professional expertise is in the areas of micro- nano-electronics, micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS), sensors, semiconductor noise, magnetic recording and hysteresis. He is the recipient of two Faculty of the Year awards. He is the co-director of the Institute for MEMS and VLSI Technologies at the George Washington University. He has authored or co-authored over 100 refereed journal papers and conference presentations.

Ms. Brittany G. Wrightis currently the Director of Enrollment Management & Advising at the School of Engineering & Applied Science (SEAS) at the George Washington University. Ms. Wright oversees the development and implementation of strategic, data-driven marketing and recruiting plans that include local, domestic and international markets, along with establishing academic agreements with key international partner institutions around the world. SEAS graduate advising and student services efforts are designed in conjunction with academic departments to improve retention, increase student satisfaction and maintain accurate student records. Ms. Wright travels extensively in Europe, South and Central Asia recruiting graduate students, establishing partner programs and representing GW SEAS at international conferences.
