From October 10 to 12, the Chinese Robot Contest in 2014 and RoboCup Open was held in Hefei International Exhibition Center. Two teams of XJTU took part in “the Routine Double Feet Figure Group” dancing contest and got the first prize respectively.
The contest was jointly hosted by the Municipal Government of Hefei, the Robot Contest Committee of China Automation Society, China Committee of RoboCup and the Hi-tech Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology. More than 2900 students from 185 Chinese universities took part in the contest. The contest had 12 big items and 118 subitems, which included RoboCup football robot contest, RoboCup rescue group contest, RoboCup family group, FIRA football robot contest, aerial robot contest, aquatic robot contest, dancing robot contest, two feet walking race robot contest, microsoftware football robot simulation contest, robot martial art arena contest ,robot visiting China contest and service robot contest.
Under the support of the Office of Teaching Affairs and the Engineering Workshop, the RoboCup of XJTU actively prepared for the contest and redesigned and arranged final scheme, stage backdrop, music and dance after it got the final qualification in Beijing trial in August and acquired good performance in the final in the end.
China Robot Contest and RoboCup Open is one of the current Chinese sophisticated technology industry contests of robot and the activities of gathering talents. It involves the frontier science and technology like electronic information, communication net, equipment manufacturing and artificial intelligence.
