Recently, a delegation of 11 students and teachers from Xi'an Jiaotong University went to Tokyo University of Science in Japan to participate in a week-long short-term exchange program between Chinese and Japanese teenagers. The project aims to deepen the communication between the future generation of China and Japanese teenagers in the field of science and technology through close cooperation between industry, academia and the government.

Around the theme of "Science andTechnologyExchange", students visiting Japan visited five laboratories under the division of science and technology ofTokyoUniversity ofScience in groups of two. Led byProfessor Yasuo Kawaguchi of Japan and other teachers and students and teaching assistants, teachers and students have gained new understanding and understanding of different frontier fields such as " fluid mechanics simulation","material mechanics simulation" and "virtual reality interaction". In addition to the intense learning process, Jiaotong University students also completed their own design projects.

In addition to scientific and technological exchanges, teachers and students of Xi'an Jiaotong University also attended lectures on Japanese traditional culture and experienced Japanese culture. Through lecture study and personal practice, teachers and students have left a deep impression and feeling on Japan's traditional culture.

At the end of the exchange, the students presented reports on their laboratory work and learning experience of Japanese culture, and held a heated discussion with Japanese teachers and students in the exchange. Professor Soichiro Okamura, vice president of Tokyo University of Science, participated in the whole process and presented the participants' certificate of "Sakura Technology Program" to the students.

The Sakura Science and Technology Program was initiated by 11 Japanese Nobel laureates such as Esaki Reona and fully funded by Japan's Science and Technology Revitalization Agency ( JST ) for short-term visits to Japanese schools, scientific research institutions, enterprises and other institutions by Asian teenagers, and an international exchange of science and technology with Japanese teenagers and scientists and researchers in various frontier fields. Xi'an Jiaotong University and Tokyo University of Science jointly applied for and carried out the "Sakura Science and Technology Program" in 2014. Up to now, the two sides have exchanged nearly 100 teachers and students.
