On April 16, a luncheon seminar on “How to Improve Your PPT Teaching Courseware” was held by Teacher’s Teaching Development Center of XJTU with a participation of more than 70 teachers. Professor ZHU Jizhou, a member of the Center Expert Panel, delivered a keynote presentation. The seminar was hosted by professor BAO Chonggao, the Deputy Director of the Center.
Based on his year-long experience and accumulation in teaching, research and teaching supervision and guidance practice, professor ZHU introduced PPT application in classroom instruction, and reasonably analyzed the actual PPT using effects of XJTU teachers with a combined analysis of teaching assessment and classroom teaching. He elaborated the connotation of exquisite PPT in three dimensions: attraction, expressiveness and individuality, emphasizing that “PPT is Point that has power”. The task of making a PPT is not easy and could not be overlooked. Professor Zhu also shared some PPT design and application principles and recommended “PPT Making and Using Criteria in the Science and Engineering Teaching in Southwest Jiaotong University”. A hot discussion centered on PPT making skills, practical application as well as PPT & blackboard combination in teaching was triggered by Prof. ZHU’s enlightening report.
This is the second luncheon seminar the Teacher’s teaching Development Center hold in this semester. The activity is generally applauded by the participants as it is novel in style and close to teaching practice.
