On the morning of February 18, a delegation from the office of the Korean Consulate General in Xi’an, led by the Consul General, the honorable Song Jiqing, visited XJTU. The executive associate dean of the School of International Education Song Yuxia met with the visiting guests in the Foreign Language Building, where they discussed the possibilities for further cooperation. Leaders of a number of concerned departments also participated in the meeting.
Vice President Song Yuxia welcomed the visitors and gave them an introduction to XJTU, with a focus on recruiting programs for foreign students, recent developments in the School of International Education, and a status report on the Korean students currently at XJTU. She expressed the hope that continued cooperation with the Korean Consulate-General will make it possible to develop new programs and new modes of communication to familiarize Korean students even more with Xi’an Jiaotong University and its 100 years of history, and thereby to erect a friendship bridge between the higher education systems of the two countries. The two consuls expressed their gratitude for the invitation from XJTU and said that they had learned a great deal from the meeting and hoped for continued cooperation in the future. Afterward, the visitors were given a tour of the campus.
