 Alliance/ Collaborative Network

 

University Alliance of The Silk Road (UASR)

CUHK joined the UASR as one of the member universities in April 2016 (please clickherefor details). The Alliance was established in 2015 to promote the spirit of the Silk Road, building a cooperative education platform to further regional development. The Alliance has now more than 120 member universities from 22 countries and regions.

The Alliance aims to promote collaboration with regards to inter-university exchange, talent nurturing, research collaboration, cultural exchange, policy study and social services among member universities along the Silk Road Economic Belt from Asia to Middle East, Europe and East Africa. “To establish cooperative education platforms and further regional development” is the spirit of the Alliance. Research

Global China Research Programme

 

Convened by the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies, the programme aims to consolidate and expand on current foundations in China studies, with the Belt &Road Initiative being one of the focuses. Please clickherefor details.

 

Academic Activities

Shanghai-Hong Kong Development Institute

The Shanghai-Hong Kong Development Institute was jointly established by The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Fudan University in 2001, with an aim to serve as an inter-disciplinary think tank for the sustained prosperity in Hong Kong and Shanghai by promoting academic exchange between scholars from the two universities. Lectures on “Belt and Road Initiatives” organized by the Institute were as follows:➢

Annual Conference (15-16 December, 2015)

The Institute organized its Annual Conference entitled “One Belt One Road: Opportunities of Development for Shanghai and Hong Kong” in CUHK. Scholars from around the world shared insights on the latest developments and strategies on Belt and Road Initiative. Please click here for details.
