On March 11, Professor John Bilson, Dean of Stuart School of Business, Illinois Institute of Technology, together with his wife Laura Bilson and Alexandra Arnone, a faculty member of the School, paid a visit to the School of Economics and Finance. Li Qian, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Finance, and Professor Xu Fengmin had an informal discussion with the guests.

John Bilson delivered a lecture on “Directional Trading in Equity Derivatives Markets” and introduced the trading model he proposed to track market trends and its features and application in option trading. During his lecture, John Bilson had a heated discussions with master and doctoral students from the School of Economics and Finance about the design of financial trading regime and quantitative investment models,etc.

Following the lecture, John Bilson et al and Li Qian held in-depth talks about cooperation between the School of Economics and Finance and Stuart School of Business. first of all, Li Qian gave a warm welcome to John Bilson et al on behalf of the School and then introduced the degree programs, scientific studies, faculty and talent development of XJTU and the School. John Bilson also introduced basic facts of Stuart School of Business and proposed four possibilities of cooperation programm between the two parties in talent and faculty development, to be more specific, the 3+2 (undergraduate+graduate) program, the 1+1 (double master degrees) program, short-term teaching and summer scientific training programs for young teachers and visiting scholar programs for more than one year. The two parties expressed wishes to keep in touch and get the cooperation programs running as soon as possible.
