From September 4, the eight-day campus day of Aachen University of Technology kicked off at Xi'an Jiaotong University. On the 4th, Professor Matthias Wu Tingxu of Aachen University of Technology led a delegation to visit Xi 'an Jiaotong University. Vice President Xi Guang met with guests at the Science Building 107.

Xi Guang pointed out that Xi'an is the starting point of the ancient Silk Road. In recent years, the country has continuously increased its support for the development of the western region. With the implementation of the "The Belt and Road Initiative" , Xi'an is ushering in unprecedented opportunities for development. He said that the main part of Jiaotong University was relocated to Xi'an according to the decision of the State Council in 1956 and was later officially renamed Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1959, and now Xi'an Jiaotong University is making every effort to build Western China Science & Technology Innovation Harbor, hoping that the two universities can deepen their consensus and seek more opportunities for cooperation.

 Professor Matthias Wutingxu reviewed the course of cooperation with the scientific research team of the School of Materials Science and Engineering. He believes that Xi'an Jiaotong University is a very dynamic Chinese university, with good prospects for cooperation between the two universities, and he is very willing to boost the cooperation between the two universities and further expand the fields of cooperation in the future work.

On the same day, the delegation from Aachen University of Technology went to the School of Materials Science and Engineering, the School of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Science to conduct academic exchanges, and gave a special lecture on studying at Aachen University of Technology for students of XJTU.
