On April 5, President Wang Shuguo and Vice President Xi Guang met with Professor Ehab Abdel Rahman, Provost of American University in Cairo. The two sides discussed in depth the prospects and ways of cooperation between the two universities.

President Wang briefed the guests on the history and development of Xi'an Jiaotong University and the concept and progress ofWestern ChinaInnovation and Technology Harbour. He expressed the hope that the two universities will establish cooperative relations and carry out substantive cooperation such as teacher-student exchanges and joint scientific research.

Provost Ehab Abdel - Rahman introduced the subject establishment, international background teachers and foreign students of American University in Cairo. He pointed out that he hoped the two universities could establish a cooperative relationship and carry out cooperation in the fields of student exchanges and scientific research, and expressed his expectation for the related activities of the Silk Road University Alliance.
