In the morning of October 16, a delegation led by Vice President of University of Liverpool Fiona Beveridge visited XJTU. Vice President Xi Guang met the guests at the Meeting Room 107 of the Science Building.

Xi Guang looked back on the achievements made by XJTU and University of Liverpool over these years in academic studies, joint student programs, Xi’an Jiaotong-liverpool University and the Liverpool Confucius Institute, introduced XJTU’s development plan for World First-class Universities, the vision for the Western China Science and Technology Innovation Harbour, and invited University of Liverpool to support and get involved in the development of XJTU. He wished the two universities would deepen cooperation and exchange in the field of sociology and law.

Vice President Beveridge introduced the academic blueprint of University of Liverpool in details, in particular, highlighted the development of comprehensive labs and inter-disciplinary institutes dedicated to interdisciplinary studies, as well as management, human resources, marketing, law and art subjects. She wished the two parties would take advantage of the platforms provided by Universities Alliance of the New Silk Road and its sub-alliances, bring the partnership to higher level and yield new achievements.

Assistant to President, Dean of the School of Law Shan Wenhua, heads of the Department of International Cooperation & Exchanges, the School of Science and the School of Law and teachers were presented at the meeting. After the meeting, the guests had talks over possible cooperation with the School of Science and the School of Law, high-level exchanging program for teachers and students and diversified academic exchanging programs.
