On September 20, President Zheng Nanning met with the managing director of Japan’s Rohm Semiconductor Group, Mr. Takasu Hidemi and his party to discuss ways of further developing the cooperation between the two institutions, particularly as regards the establishment of joint laboratories and joint training programs.
Prior to the meeting, a ceremony was held in room 101 of the Science Hall to name Mr. Takasu Hidemi as XJTU guest professor. Vice President Jiang Zhuangde presented him with an appointment certificate and a school pin. Mr. Takasu Hidemi then delivered a lecture entitled “Spanning the World, Combining Science and Technology and Communicating One to One” to the faculty and students of the School of Electrical Engineering. Among those present, in addition to the representatives of Rohm Company, were the general manager of ROHM Chinese Design Center Li Jun, the general manager of Tsinghua-Rohm Joint Research Center Mr. Wang Zhongjun and the leadership of the School of Electrical Engineering and the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange. Rohm had company exhibition and introduction in the Science Hall and held campus recruiting meeting.
