On February 25^th，vice president Noci of Politecnico di Milano visited Xi’an Jiaotong University for further cooperation. President Wang Shuguo hosted the conference and brought the greetings to them in hoping to expand further cooperation with POLIMI.

During the discussion，Vice-President Noci congratulated on the coming start of theWestern China Science and Technology Innovation Harbor (iharbour).The conference focus on the exchange program of students between XJTU and POLIMI, and the joint-college project for undergraduates students，the master students，and the PHD students. The discussion did not only enhance the established cooperation, but also initialized some new project. During the conference, a joint-design research center is planned to be built as one new way of cooperation between a Italian company and a Chinese company.

After that, Bie Chaohong, the chairman of Electrical and Electronic EngineeringSchool,made a brief introduction about the cooperation that we have already carried on with POLIMI, in the hope that the project will expand to the whole university.

On February 26^th，Professor Sergio who will in charge of the joint-school project is invited to the opening ceremony ofWestern China Science and Technology Innovation Harborby president Wang Shuguo on behalf of Vice-President Noci. Prof. Sergio brought the sincere congratulation to iharbour from president Noci. The provincial and municipal leaders met with Prof. Sergio on the opening ceremony. As one of the showcase project under UASR, both XJTU and POLIMI wish the joint-college building which is under construction to be the landmark of iharbour and the joint-school education cooperation model will be a typical model for international cooperation between XJTU and other institute in the near future.
